Selamat Hari Raya

Hi all,

We are approaching near to another festival. This time, it is Hari Raya. Here is the song we are learning in school for Hari Raya.

Selamat Hari Raya
Hai selamat hari raya
Kami semua ucapkan
Menikmati hidangan
Yang kami sediakan

Sila jamu selera
Dengan bermacam hidangan
Pilih yang mana suka
Sila janganlah segan

Rasalah ketupat ini
Dengan rendangnya sekali
Sudilah rasa kuihku
Pilihlah yang mana satu

Hai... di hari begini
Kita menjamu selera
Kita bermaaf-maafan
Di suasana hari raya

Let's shake it!

A whole array of washboard, pots and barrel

Our shy performers

Slap it with a slipper!

Coming as a whole to perform

"Teacher, it's too noisy!"

"This is the way we wash our clothes."

"Hey, you've got a better instrument than me!"

Recess song

For Term 1, Endeavour Primary School students have been singing the song entitled 'If we hold on together' from the movie 'The land before time'. They have been learning the song during their Music lessons.

Here is the video clip of the song.

Here's the lyrics

If We Hold On Together - Diana Ross

Don't lose your way
With each passing day
You've come so far
Don't throw it away
Live believing
Dreams are for weaving
Wonders are waiting to start
Live your story
Faith, hope & glory
Hold to the truth in your heart

If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
Where clouds roll by
For you and I

Souls in the wind
Must learn how to bend
Seek out a star
Hold on to the end
Valley, mountain
There is a fountain
Washes our tears all away
Words are swaying
Someone is praying
Please let us come home to stay

If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
Where clouds roll by
For you and I

When we are out there in the dark
We'll dream about the sun
In the dark we'll feel the light
Warm our hearts, everyone

If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
As high as souls can fly
The clouds roll by
For you and I

CCP Music - Lesson 1

Lifting it like a dumb bell.

Students paying attention to the trainer.

Who thought dippers can be used as instruments?

Busy washing something on the washboard?

Look at the long PVC pipe he's holding.

Pails and saucepans are used to make music.

The class sitting in a circle for performance.

A barrel is used as a drum.
The trainer with the students.

Hi everyone,
Above are pictures showing our students having fun in the Junk Jamz, which is part of their CCP programme for this term. This was the very first lesson on it. Students were taught to make music using everyday tools, such as pails, saucepans, pipes and washboards, just like STOMP. I'm sure all of you can't wait for your next lesson!
